Our client asked for a reference-grade private cinema inside a listed lakeside villa in Northern Italy — a building where heritage rules meant not a single original wall could be modified.
The challenge
The room had to be engineered as a completely reversible box-in-box: independent walls, floor and ceiling, mechanically decoupled from the original structure. Every cable path, ventilation duct and acoustic panel was designed to be removable without leaving a trace.
Acoustic design first
We modelled and simulated the room before a single panel was cut. Bass response was engineered through multiple subwoofers positioned by simulation rather than habit, flattening the low-frequency response across all eight seats — not just the center one.
The system
A 9.4.6 Dolby Atmos layout built around Trinnov processing and Wisdom Audio loudspeakers, with a 4.2-metre Screen Excellence acoustically transparent screen and 4K projection, calibrated to reference by our THX, ISF and HAA certified team.
The result
Seven months after the first survey, the villa gained a room that measures within reference tolerances — and that can, if one day required, disappear entirely. As with all our residential projects, photography remains private at the owner's request: we tell the story, never the address.
Il cliente ci ha chiesto una sala cinema privata reference-grade dentro una villa storica vincolata sul lago, nel Nord Italia — un edificio dove i vincoli imponevano di non modificare un solo muro originale.
La sfida
La sala è stata progettata come un box-in-box completamente reversibile: pareti, pavimento e soffitto indipendenti, disaccoppiati meccanicamente dalla struttura originale. Ogni passaggio cavi, condotto di ventilazione e pannello acustico è smontabile senza lasciare traccia.
Prima l'acustica
Abbiamo modellato e simulato la sala prima di tagliare un solo pannello. La risposta in bassa frequenza è stata progettata con più subwoofer posizionati in base alla simulazione, non all'abitudine, uniformando la resa su tutti gli otto posti — non solo su quello centrale.
Il sistema
Un layout 9.4.6 Dolby Atmos costruito attorno all'elaborazione Trinnov e ai diffusori Wisdom Audio, con schermo acusticamente trasparente Screen Excellence da 4,2 metri e proiezione 4K, calibrato a riferimento dal nostro team certificato THX, ISF e HAA.
Il risultato
Sette mesi dopo il primo sopralluogo, la villa ha una sala che misura entro le tolleranze di riferimento — e che, se un giorno servisse, può sparire del tutto. Come per tutti i nostri progetti residenziali, le fotografie restano private su richiesta del proprietario: raccontiamo la storia, mai l'indirizzo.
